Please read these Terms and Conditions ("Terms") carefully before using the Sprout mobile application ("App") operated by Sprout ("we", "us", or "our").

By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Definitions

• Application means the Sprout mobile application, available on iOS and Android.
• Account means a unique account created for you to access our Service.
• Service means the Application and all features provided through it.
• Subscription means a paid recurring plan (Sprout Pro) that provides access to premium features.
• Content means text, images, meal photos, and other information you upload or generate through the App.
• AI Features means the artificial intelligence-powered features within the Service, including meal photo analysis, nutrition scoring, recipe suggestions, and food insights.

2. Account Registration

To use the App, you must create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete information during registration.
• Maintain the security of your account credentials.
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorised access to your account.
• Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account.

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. The App is designed for parents and caregivers — it is not intended for use by children.

3. Subscriptions and Payments

3.1 Free and Pro Plans

Sprout offers a free tier with limited features and a paid subscription ("Sprout Pro") that unlocks premium features including unlimited meal snaps, unlimited recipe searches, full family sharing, and more.

3.2 Billing

Sprout Pro is billed on a recurring monthly basis through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Payment is charged to your App Store or Play Store account at confirmation of purchase.

3.3 Free Trial

We may offer a free trial period for Sprout Pro. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid subscription at the advertised price.

3.4 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your App Store or Play Store settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No refunds are provided for partial billing periods.

3.5 Price Changes

We reserve the right to change subscription prices. Any price changes will take effect at the start of the next billing period following notice of the change.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose.
• Upload content that is harmful, offensive, or infringes on the rights of others.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the App, its servers, or any related systems.
• Use the App to collect information about other users without their consent.
• Interfere with or disrupt the App or its infrastructure.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the App.

5. AI Features and Disclaimer

Important: Sprout uses artificial intelligence to analyse meal photos and provide nutrition information, scores, and recommendations. You acknowledge and agree that:

• AI-generated nutrition information is approximate and indicative only. It should not be relied upon as precise nutritional data.
• AI analysis may contain errors, inaccuracies, or omissions. Always use your own judgement when making dietary decisions for your child.
• Sprout does not provide medical, dietary, or health advice. The App is not a substitute for professional consultation with a paediatrician, dietitian, or other healthcare provider.
• Choking risk assessments and food safety guidance are general in nature and may not account for your child's specific circumstances.
• Recipe suggestions are generated by AI and should be reviewed for allergen safety and age-appropriateness before preparation.

6. Your Content

You retain ownership of the content you upload to the App (including meal photos and food logs). By uploading content, you grant us a limited licence to process, store, and display your content as necessary to provide the Service.

You are responsible for ensuring that any content you upload does not violate these Terms or any applicable laws.

7. Family Sharing

The App allows you to invite other caregivers to your family group. When you share access:

• Invited members can view and log meals for shared child profiles.
• You are responsible for managing who has access to your family group.
• You can remove members from your family group at any time.

8. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, code, branding, and AI models, is owned by Sprout and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the App without our prior written consent.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
• We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
• We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App.
• Our total liability for any claims arising from the use of the App shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Sprout and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the App or violation of these Terms.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, without prior notice, if you breach these Terms or if we discontinue the Service. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately.

12. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms in the App or by email. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

14. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
