Sprout ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Sprout mobile application (the "App"). When you create an account or use the App, we may collect:

- Child profile information: your child's first name, date of birth, gender, dietary needs, and allergies. This is used solely to personalise nutrition guidance.
- Family information: names and roles of caregivers you invite to your family group.
1.2 Meal and Nutrition Data
- Meal photos: photos you take or upload for AI nutrition analysis. Photos are processed to extract nutrition information and are not shared with third parties for advertising purposes.
- Meal logs: food descriptions, nutrition scores, macronutrient breakdowns, and timestamps.
- Progress data: streaks, badges, quests, and other gamification data.
1.3 Information Collected Automatically
- Device information: device type, operating system version, and unique device identifiers.
- Usage data: how you interact with the App, including screens visited, features used, and session duration.
- Push notification tokens: if you enable notifications.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the App and its features.
- Analyse meal photos using AI to provide nutrition breakdowns and safety guidance.
- Generate personalised recipe suggestions based on your child's preferences and dietary needs.
- Track nutrition progress, streaks, and achievements.
- Enable family sharing so multiple caregivers can log meals for the same child.
- Send onboarding reminders, weekly summaries, and other service-related communications.
- Process subscriptions and payments.
- Respond to support requests.
3. AI-Powered Features
Sprout uses artificial intelligence (provided by third-party AI services) to analyse meal photos and generate nutrition information, recipe suggestions, and insights. When you use these features:
- Meal photos and related text are sent to our AI provider for processing.
- AI-generated nutrition information is approximate and should not be used as a substitute for professional dietary or medical advice.
- We do not use your meal data to train AI models.
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information with:
- Family members: caregivers you invite to your family group can see shared child profiles, meal logs, and progress data.
- Service providers: third-party companies that help us operate the App, including cloud hosting (Supabase), AI processing (Anthropic), email delivery (Resend), and payment processing (Apple/Google).
- Legal requirements: if required by law, regulation, or legal process.
5. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption and security practices. We use Supabase for data storage, which provides row-level security and encrypted connections. While we take reasonable measures to protect your information, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure.
6. Children's Privacy
Sprout is designed for parents and caregivers to track their children's nutrition. The App is not intended for use by children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. All child profile data is provided and managed by the parent or caregiver account holder.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate information.
- Request deletion of your account and associated data.
- Export your data in a portable format.
- Withdraw consent for optional data processing.
- Opt out of marketing communications.

8. Data Retention

10. Push Notifications
